Bangalore (Karnataka), 28th October 2020: Senior Lawyer Sri M K Vijaya Kumar, has been chosen for the Kannada Rajyotsava Award by the Government of Karnataka. The Rajyotsava Prashasti or Rajyotsava Award, the second highest civilian honor of the Karnataka state of India are conferred annually by the Karnataka Government on the occasion of the establishment of the state on 1 November celebrated as the Kannada Rajyotsava.
Sri M K Vijayakumar, a lawyer from Karkala in the Udupi district of Karnataka has been choosen for the award for his remarkable contribution in the field of law. Born on 6th July 1944, Sri Vijayakumar graduated from the Government Law College Bangalore. He started practicing as an independent lawyer in 1969 and have over five decades of experience in the legal field. Many leading lawyers of the country have been trained under him. Among those Abdul Nazir one of the Supreme Court judges grew under him.
Sri Vijaya Kumar Sir is also a Jain leader and played a pivotal role during the Mahamastahakabhisheka Mahotsava of Lord Bahubali at Karkala held in 2015.
