Mumbai (Maharashtra), May 15, 2016: A delegate of the Jain community in London is in Mumbai to seek sponsors for building a derasar (Jain temple), a multi-faith centre and a library in the British capital. The Jain Network of London, along with the Jain International Organisation, recently acquired a piece of property worth 7 million pounds in Colindale, London to build a derasar spread across 30,000sqft. The estimated cost of building it is Rs70 crore, Three trustees of the Jain Network of London (JNL) started the process of seeking donations and bidding for the project, in Mumbai on Saturday.
“We are inviting all sects of Jains to donate money for the derasar. We are hoping to gather almost Rs40crore from the Jains of India,” said Dr. Natubhai Shah (84), one of the JNL trustees. -News Courtesy: DNA India
