Padur/Padoor/Paduru is a village in the Udupi district of Karnataka. It is best known for being one of the locations of the Indian strategic petroleum reserves.
Main Deities – Black coloured stone idols of Tirthankar Parshwanath and Tirthankar Ananthanath in Kayotsarga.
Jain Temples – There are two Digambar Jain temples at Padur and are dedicated to Sri Ananthanath and Sri Parshwanath Tirthankar.
Hosabettu Parshwanath Basadi – This temple has the idol of Tirthankar Parshwanath along with choubis (24 Tirthankaras) as the main deity. Just in front of the main deity is installed another Choubis Tirthankar idol and an idol of Goddess Padmavati Yakshi. In this temple are seen the idols of other Tirthankaras in Kayotsarga. This temple’s Pratishta Pancha Kalyana post-renovation was held between 23rd to 27th Feb 1999 under the guidance of His Holiness SwastiSri Lalithakeerthi Bhattarakha Swamiji of Karkala Jain Math.
Hosabettu Ananthanath Basadi – This temple has the idol of Tirthankar Ananthanath as the main deity. Just in front of the main deity is installed an idol of Goddess Padmavati Yakshi. This temple’s Pratishta Pancha Kalyana post-renovation was held between 9th to 11th December 2010 under the guidance of His Holiness SwastiSri Charukeerthi Bhattarakha Swamiji of Moodabidri Jain Math.
Location – Padur is located at a distance of 18 kms for Udupi and 39 kms from Moodabidri.
