Javagal

    History – The Chandranatha temple is said to belong to the Hoysalas period and is about 900 years old. It was renovated recently in 2001-2002 under the guidance of His Holiness Swasti Sri Devendrakeerthi Bhattarakha Swamiji the pontiff of the Humcha Jain Mutt. Along with the idol of Bhagawan Chandranatha we can also find the two feet high black coloured idol of goddess Jwalamalini and many other small idols.

    How to Reach – Javagal is situated in the Hassan district and is at a distance of 182 Kms from Bangalore, 50 Kms from Hassan and 33 Kms from Arasikere. It and has got good bus facilities from Hassan and Arasikere.
