About Mandaragiri – Mandaragiri is situated at a distance of 15 Kms from the nearest district centre Tumkur along the Tumkur-Bangalore national highway. Mandaragiri is an ancient Jain centre with the temples being built around the 10th century during the rule of Gangas. A group of five Jain temples are found on the single stone hillock. These include the temples of Lord Chandraprabha (2 temples), Lord Parshwanath (2 temples) and Lord Mahavir with Manastambha. Apart from this we can also find the 21 feet high idol of Lord Chandraprabha that was consecrated recently. On the other side of the hillock is found a pond called as Padmavathi Kere (or Maidala Kere). – Jain Heritage Centres News Service
