Bastihalli

This is a small village situated at a distance of 5 Kms from Shravanabelagola. The temple at Bastihalli was constructed during the 12th century A.D. by a devotee called Chikka Nemichandra. It is a perfect and typical example of an ancient temple with all the difference sections. It has a spacious navaranga, sukanasi, antarala and the garbagriha. It has a four feet high black coloured idol of Lord Neminatha in kayotsarga as the main deity. Its pinnacle is pyramidal in shape with cuts all along.

How to Reach – It is hard to find visitors around this temple though being situated at a distance of just 5 Kms from Shravanabelagola. With only 4 Jain families in the village this has been a victim of disregard by the Jain community.
