Gambhu

    History – This place has a history which dates back to the ninth century. It was first called as ‘Gambhira’ or ‘Gambhuta’. Idols of many Tirthankara were made here. Acharya Sheelankacharya composed the Acharanga Sutra and the scripture ‘Sushrut’ here.

    How to Reach – Gambhu is a village having the nearest railway station of Mehsana at a distance of 20 kilometers away via Ganeshpura, on the Mehsana – Modhera road. Taxi services and bus services are available to this place.

    Main Deity – About 18 inches high white colored idol of Bhagawan Gambhira Parshwanatha in the padmasana posture.
