Gunava

    Gunava is a place in Gonwan village of Navada/Nawada district of Bihar.

    Idol of Tirthankar Kunthunath in Padmasana along with other Tirthankar idols, Sri Kunthunath Digambar Jain Mandir, Gunava, Nawad District, Bihar, India.

    Main Deity – Marble idol of Tirthankar Kunthunath in padmasana.

    History – Gunava is the place of salvation/Nirvana of the chief Ganadhar – disciple of Lord Mahavir, Swami Gautam Ganadhar. Gautam Ganadhar attained salvation from this place after 12 years Tirthankar Mahavir’s Nirvana. The Digambar Jain temple at Gunavan is located along the road side. The temple has the idol of Tirthankar Kunthunath as the main deity.

    Besides the main temple is seen a small temple dedicated to Gautham Swami. It has a marble idol of Gautham Swami.

    A small Jain temple here is situated at the centre of a pond and a bridge about 60 meters long connects the temple to the land. We can see the Charana of Swami Gautham Ganadhar installed inside the temple.

    How to Reach – Gunava is 3 Kms from Pavapuri and 30 Kms from Rajgir.
