Beralu (Shimoga District, Karnataka), August 10, 2012: Panchaloha (5 metals) Jain Idols worth Rs. 40 Lakhs have been stolen from Beralu a remote village in the Sagara taluk of Shimoga district in Tumari Gram Panchayat. The idols were stolen from the ancient Chandranatha Basadi at Beralu. The miscreants have entered the temple by breaking open the front doors. They have stolen many idols including the attractive idol of Lord Adinatha that is worth around Rs. 20 Lakhs. – Jain Heritage Centres News Service
