Booragaon

    History – We can find three Jain temples at Booragaon. Among them the temple of Bhagawan Parshwanath (popularly called as Chikka Basadi) built in the year 1887 A.D. is the oldest of all the temples. This temple has the black coloured granite idol of Parshwanath in the padmasana. A well arranged Grantha Bhandar can be found in the premises of the temple. The other temple also dedicated to Bhagawan Parshwanath has the white coloured Parshwanath idol in the padmasana. In addition to these temples we can another temple dedicated to Bhagawan Bahubali, it is popularly called as Gumphanishadi Basadi. This temple is said to have been constructed around the year A.D. 1882. We can find the granite black coloured idol of Bhagawan Baubali and Taponidhi Acharya Sri Adisagarji Maharaj.

    How to Reach – Booragaon is situated in the Chikkodi taluk of Belgaum district. Bus facilities are available to Booragaon from Chikkodi and Belgaum.
