Kailash parvat is the place of salvation of Lord Adinath, the first Tirthankara. however, Kailash parvat is currently under the control of China. Hence it is very difficult for the Jains to reach this place. Keeping this in mind the Badamandir Management trust decided to construct the Kailash Parvat Mandir at Hastinapur, as Hastinapur is also associated with Akshayatritiya (the day when Lord Adinath was given food after nearly 13 months when he decided to end his fast).
This temple consists of a group of 72 small temples and the main temple. The 72 temples are dedicated to the trikala Tirthankaras i.e. the Tirthankaras belonging to all three periods (past, present, and future). The temples are constructed in a circular way in three different steps so that the 24 Tirthankaras belonging to a particular period are constructed in a single circular step. In the center is found the main temple of around 131 feet with 11.25 feet high marble idol of Lord Adinath in the padmasana.
